Principal

Dr. Andy Jacks

Dr. Andy Jacks has been the principal at The Nokesville School since November 2021. Dr. Jacks was previously the principal at Ashland Elementary School since 2010. For over 22 years, Dr. Jacks has served as principal, summer school principal, assistant principal, and fifth-grade teacher all within different regions of Prince William County Public Schools. Dr. Jacks has been recognized for his work as principal such as the 2018 Virginia Principal of the Year, 2018 Nationally Distinguished Principal, 2021 Professional Development Award, and 2019 Business Partnership of the Year Award.

Dr. Jacks received his Bachelor's Degree from Grove City College in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education, his Master's Degree from George Mason University in K-12 Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, and Doctorate from Virginia Tech in K-12+ Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.

Dr. Jacks seeks ways for families to be engaged in school and for help with making school decisions. Examples include Principal Coffee Chats, Principal's Advisory Council, PTO, Take Home Book Program, and Tiger Task Force.

Middle-Level Assistant Principal

Mr. Geoff Brunson

Geoff Brunson

Mr. Brunson has been in the education field for over 20+ years. Previously, he taught 2nd grade, 6th grade math, 7th grade language arts, and K-5 physical education.

Mr. Brunson feels that The Nokesville School has been like coming home for him. He grew up in a small, close-knit community similar to Nokesville. He cherishes the opportunity that he had in opening the new Nokesville building in 2014. He feels that the families, students, and staff are all vital components that work together in unison that make us a visionary community that inspires excellence.Mr. Brunson earned his master's degree in educational instruction and his master's degree in educational administration and supervision PreK – 12 from the University of Pittsburgh.

Elementary-Level Assistant Principal

Mrs. Abbey Martinez

Mrs. Abbey Martinez is the assistant principal for the elementary level at The Nokesville School. She believes all children can learn and be successful. She began her career in education as a speech-language pathologist working with students in PreK through 8th grade. Mrs. Martinez has served as an administrator for 9 years at the elementary and PreK levels. Her education includes: a BA from the University of New Mexico in Communicative Disorders, an MS in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from East Carolina University, and a graduate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Mary Washington. Mrs. Martinez is proud of being nominated as Assistant Principal of the Year by her last two principals in her previous division. Mrs. Martinez and her husband (USMC retired), live in Stafford County, and enjoy visiting their son Matthew who is a naval officer, their daughter Emily who is an educator, and their son Luke who attends Virginia Tech and is working towards a commission in the USMC upon graduation.

Administrative Intern

Mrs. Brittney Giovannelli

Brittney Giovannelli

Mrs. Brittney Giovannelli was most recently a Teacher On Special Assignment doing administrative work (very similar to the Administrative Intern role) at Colgan High School. Previously, she was a Social Studies Teacher at both the middle and high school levels.
