Sixth Grade

Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to 6th Grade! We hope you’ve had or are having an amazing summer and getting excited to learn new things this coming school year.

This year will be an exciting and important one; it is the year to get organized, take more responsibility for individual learning, and prepare for both the SOL tests and the jump to an increase in independence. In addition to our curriculum, there will be field trips, projects, performances, parent-child activities, etc. The year will be busy, and expectations will be heightened.

Parents, with your help we can work together to ensure your child has a successful transition to middle school. We need your support of academics, discipline, and homework policies. The classroom door is always open, and conferences can easily be arranged. We strive for an open line of communication and a positive partnership. With home and school working together, we know EVERY child can have his or her most successful year ever; we can’t wait for an amazing year!

Best wishes for an amazing year,
The 6th Grade Team
