"Hey Kids, Let's Talk ... about Snowflakes!"
Snow Days! What great days to spend with your children when possible. These unexpected "wear your pajamas inside out" the night before days, can be even more fun than planned vacations. Our students have been excited to share their "snow" stories with one another. We have heard all about snow fort constructions, techniques for the best snow ball making, magical snow angel creations and scrumptious maple cream snow cone recipes. Invite your children to get outside and create some winter wonders. We've even heard reports that a parent outlasted the children in the excitement of building a snow igloo! Without your children even knowing it, you can open the doors for science experiments and science discussions. With your little ones, suggest drawing colorful pictures of what you wear on your hands, feet and head on these chilling days. Talk about the steps to create a snowman, (which will encourage sequencing skills), and how you could really dress it up! Most importantly... have fun and talk!
I invite you to contact me for thoughts and ideas!
