Music Terms
Here are the terms you should know! You will need these to play some of the music games in the weekly activities. 

Flat                  Symbol to the left of a note that lowers the pitch by a half step

Sharp              Symbol to the left of a note that raises the pitch by a half step

Enharmonic    Two notes that sound the same but are spelled differently

Interval           The different in pitch between two notes

Slur                  Curved line connecting two or more different notes

Tie                   Curved line connecting two or more of the same notes

Staccato          Short and detached

Legato             Smooth and connected

Dynamics        Symbols that show a change in volume of a song

Forte               Loud

Piano               Soft

Crescendo       Gradually get louder

Decrescendo   Gradually get softer

Measure         The space between one bar line and the next

Largo               Very slow, broad tempo

Moderato       Medium tempo

Presto             Very fast tempo

Prestissimo     Extremely fast tempo

Allegro            Fast tempo

Adagio            Slow, but moving tempo
