During School Closure

2nd Grade Home Learning

This above link is the direct link to our team webpage where you will find the resources needed to continue learning activities at home. When you click on this link, you will see a set of folders.

The pacing guide folder contains the pacing guide for the year. It shows you the major concepts that were taught and the concepts that have not yet been taught.

The Week of "________" folder will take you to the activities and learning experiences for that given week. When you click on the folder, you will see subfolders. Each subject area has a designated folder (math, reading/writing, word study, science/social studies).

When you click on a subject area folder, you will find DIRECTIONS for the week for that particular subject. You will also see activities/resources/worksheets to use for that subject area.

Each week we will add a new folder. That folder will contain the same materials listed above.  We hope this is beneficial to you!

Note to Students

I miss you all! I just want to remind you that during this time when our school building is closed, I’m still here for you and I am still your teacher.  I know that this is a big change for you, and that change is hard.  We will continue to support each other during this time and we will get through it together.  We are still a team!

While our building is closed, please check out our 2nd Grade Team webpage for updates, assignments, activities, and links that you can do from home. Click here to access this page or use the link posted at the top of this page.  This is a place to find resources to help you continue to grow as learners.

Good daily practice would be:

Reading: Read for 20-30 minutes a day.  You can read books from home or use one of the links found in our 2nd Grade Home Learning file on the 2nd Grade Team page.

Writing: You could keep a daily journal of your thoughts and actions, create a story, or write me a letter!  I’d love to hear from you!  There’s a portable Word Wall in our 2nd Grade Home Learning folder to help you with sight words.

Math: It is always good to practice counting mixed coins to $2.00, tell time to the nearest 5 minutes, and practice addition and subtraction facts, to 18, for fluency.  You can also check out the folder on the 2nd Grade Home Learning, by week, for additional activities or choose a game from our games folder!

Keep being the best you that you can be and making me proud! Take care of yourselves and your parents! Make sure you’re keeping a good balance in your day and in addition to school work you are exercising, playing, and helping your parents out around the house!  I can’t wait to hear about the wonderful things you’ve been up to!

Remember that  I am here for you!

Note to Parents

Dear Parents,

During this time, I'm here for you as well.  Please don't hesitate to contact me at: with any questions, or even if you just need to talk!  We will learn and adjust to the new "normal" together!  Rest assured that you are not alone and the 2nd Grade Team is working hard to provide you and your child the necessary resources and support during this time.  I look forward to finishing the 2019-2020 school year with you and your child.
